Nabsys Expands in the 195 District

Nabsys, a Providence-based life sciences company pioneering electronic genome mapping technology, is expanding its Rhode Island presence with a new 30,000-square-foot headquarters at 225 Dyer Street in the 195 District.

Founded in Providence in 2005, Nabsys develops technology that helps researchers better understand the structure of the genome, with applications in cancer, genetic diseases, and cell and gene therapy research. The company currently employs more than 40 people in Rhode Island and expects to add more than 200 jobs as it grows.

At 225 Dyer, Nabsys will join a growing concentration of life sciences and technology companies in and around the District. Its new headquarters will bring manufacturing, research and development, technology development and business operations together in one location.

Nabsys’ decision to expand in Providence also demonstrates the importance of creating an environment where homegrown companies can remain in Rhode Island as they scale. By providing the space, infrastructure and connections innovative companies need to grow, the 195 District is helping turn Rhode Island innovation into long-term economic opportunity.
