Editorial: 'A game changer for Rhode Island'

After months of waiting, Rhode Islanders last week finally got their first glimpse of a development proposal that could mark a turning point for the state's economy.

The $158 million, 287,000-square-foot "innovation center" and hotel complex planned for two parcels of former Route 195 land in Providence is expected to produce 700 jobs across the income spectrum, as well as 450 jobs in local businesses and more than 1,000 jobs that will be needed during construction.
